Privacy Policy

1. Who we are
Quote My Ride (quotemyride.co.za) is operated by Arke360 (Pty) Ltd (“Quote My Ride”, “we”, “us”). We help South Africans request insurance quotes. We are not an insurer and we do not give financial advice. When you ask for a quote, we pass your details to an authorised financial services provider (FSP) who will contact you.
We are the “responsible party” for your personal information under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).
2. What information we collect
- Details you give us in our forms: title, first name, last name, phone number, email address, gender, the type of insurance you are interested in, and anything you add under “Additional Information”.
- Your consent: a record that you agreed to be contacted, and when.
- Technical and campaign information: the page you used, the advert or campaign that brought you to us (for example UTM tags and click IDs), your IP address and basic browser information.
Please do not include sensitive information (such as health or financial account details) in the “Additional Information” box.
3. Why we use it
- To pass your request to an authorised FSP so they can contact you with an insurance quote.
- To keep a record of your request and your consent.
- To measure which adverts and pages work, and to improve our service.
- To prevent spam, fraud and misuse of our website.
- To meet our legal and regulatory obligations.
We process your information because you asked us to (your consent and your request for a quote), and for our legitimate interests in running and improving our service.
4. Who we share it with
- Authorised financial services providers / insurers who will contact you about the quote you requested. They become responsible for your information under their own privacy policies once they receive it.
- Our service providers, such as website hosting, email and lead-management systems, who process information on our behalf under confidentiality obligations.
- Authorities, where the law requires it.
We do not sell your personal information.
5. Direct marketing
We and the FSP will only contact you about the quote you requested, unless you agree to more. You can ask us to stop contacting you at any time (see section 9), and every marketing message will tell you how to opt out.
6. Cookies and advertising tools
Our website uses cookies and similar tools (for example, advertising pixels from Meta/Facebook and analytics tools) to understand how visitors use the site and to measure our adverts. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
7. How long we keep it
We keep your information only as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as long as the law requires. Lead records are normally kept for up to 12 months and then deleted or anonymised.
8. How we protect it
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including secure (HTTPS) connections, access controls and trusted service providers. If we become aware of a security compromise that affects you, we will notify you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.
Some of our service providers may store information outside South Africa. When this happens, we make sure it is protected to a standard similar to POPIA.
9. Your rights
You have the right to:
- ask what personal information we hold about you and request a copy;
- ask us to correct or delete your information;
- object to us processing your information, or withdraw your consent;
- ask us to stop contacting you;
- lay a complaint with the Information Regulator.
